5 ways to (slowly) embrace autumn this year

My autumn people, it is time. Autumn officially begins this week and I couldn't be more excited to welcome the most magical time of the year (at least in my opinion!).

I've spoken about seasonal slow living several times on my platform and it's because I firmly stand by its accessibility into any slow living journey. So, if you're looking to embrace this time of year for what it is, incorporate some simple slow living practices, or are in need of an autumnal boost (whether you're an autumn person or not), read on!

Create an Autumn Bucket List

You know the drill, seasonal bucket lists are a must. Autumn bucket lists are particularly non-negotiable, at least on this side of the internet. Trust me when I say there are so many things you can do during this time of year to embrace the cozy fall goodness. Need ideas? My slow living autumn guide has a huge customizable bucket list ready to go for ya!

Take a Road Trip or Go Camping

Warm seasons aren't the only times to head out! I will argue that cold seasons have just as much to offer, you just need to look at the right places and have an open mind. Road trips are perfect for exploring local towns, something I find to be a perfect fall activity. It's also great for spotting fall foliage (if you've never driven through Northeast US during autumn, you need to). Camping also allows you to be fully immersed in the most gorgeous autumnal views, no sweating to worry about.

Explore Local Cultural Spots

Is it just me or is autumn perfect for getting lost in the world of history and culture? Grab a sweater and tote, pull on your booties, and go exploring. Some ideas include art museums, bookstores, foodie crawls, guided tours, etc. Oh, and grab a coffee for the walk, too!

Indulge in Seasonal Flavors (As Much As Possible!)

Summer is known for produce abundance, but let's not forget that autumn is known for warmth, spice, and ultimate comfort, especially when it comes to food. Embrace it while you can get your hands on seasonal produce. Warm apple cider, cinnamon and nutmeg, creamy squash soup, pillowy maple donuts! It's! The! Best!

Embrace All Things Cozy

I will argue that autumn cozy cannot compare to any other kind of cozy. Sure, we have all the cozy holiday vibes coming at the end of the year. But! Autumn has much less pressure and chaos that year-end usually has. Autumn allows you to sit and settle into anything associated with cozy. Warm sweaters, hot coffee, snuggly reading spots, crackling bonfires... so comfy.

This is just the surface of what we can embrace from autumn. If you're yearning for more feel-good autumnal vibes, be sure to check out my 17-page "slow living autumn" guide here!
