an august slow living r.e.p.o.r.t.
Okay, I’m a few days late on this - blame it on the first of the month falling on a weekend (a long weekend at that!!). Let’s jump right into the report, shall we?
R (reading)
I wanted to end summer off with one last fun beachy read. Summer Rental was just the right pick. Takes place during Labor Day weekend in Miami? Perfect. A bunch of unhinged teens getting into chaotic antics? Great. A killer on the loose as the teens pack into a summer rental home as a major hurricane hits? Talk about the perfect August read!
E (eating)
Bread. Butter. That’s it. That’s the fixation! I bought a huge loaf of sourdough from the farmers market at a stand that always has a line wrapped around the lot and now I understand why. The sourdough was delightful and I enjoyed it in the best way possible: with lots and lots of salty butter. I seriously ate this for two weeks straight.
P (playing)
We got back on our Dead by Daylight BS. Mostly because there was an event where the stakes were much higher, and the usual amount of players in a game were doubled. Aka… chaos. Pure fun and chaos.
O (obsessing)
Not sure if this is a soft launch or widespread news, but I stumbled upon a new Barnes & Noble that had a MAJOR makeover. I’m talking about a whole new look, stacked shelves, lots of cozy chairs, a revamped cafe, curated selections, and looooots of products (like toys, vinyl/cds/dvds again, journals, etc.). And I love it?
R (recommending)
We finally watched Longlegs (it’s streaming now!) and it’s worth the hype. A really fantastic spooky movie that’s definitely a bit of horror, but it’s mostly a true crime movie. Just a heads up on that. But still, fantastic watch!! We did an episode talking all about it if you’re interested :)
T (treating)
We spontaneously got tattoos after two years! We used to have a tradition of getting one tattoo a year, but that fell off when we moved. Not sure why. But hopefully the tradition is back! It’s a nice little “treat” purchase, I’d say. Here’s the tattoo if you’d like to see!
And onto the ‘ber months! The months that will likely have JAM-PACKED reports. Stay tuned!!
