a september slow living r.e.p.o.r.t.
Reporting to you on my 30th birthday! I’m leaning into rest for this one, at least on the day of, so let me go right to the report so I can get back to that.
R (reading)
I completed a book and started a second book in September, but the one I completed wasn’t my favorite. So let’s talk about the one I recently started: Coraline! Did you know it was a book before the movie? I did, I just never got around to reading it. September felt like the perfectly cozy time to do so, and I’m absolutely loving it thus far!
E (eating)
This month’s fixation is an interesting one, given that I thought I’d be over cold treats by now. But it’s frozen yogurt. Chocolate frozen yogurt with cookie dough, to be exact. I don’t know why it took me until the end of summer to remember how lovely froyo is, but I spent all September making up for it!
P (playing)
Don’t judge me, but it took two years for me to pick up The Quarry again. It’s an actual shame because the game is SO short, but I can finally say I’ve completed it! Another perfect choice for spooky September. Ian (my husband) and I chat all about it on our podcast, btw.
O (obsessing)
Somehow, tattoos? Okay, this started in August with a fully planned out appointment and design idea (the jack o’ lantern). But then, multiple sales events led to me getting TWO more tattoos in September alone. So now I have three brand new tattoos, all done in the span of one month lol.
R (recommending)
If you’re in the NYC area, I highly recommend this breakfast combo: a bagel from Apollo and PSL from La Colombe. Very basic, very trendy… I know. But it’s seriously so good and I was recently reminded of that when I visited NYC one Sunday morning!
T (treating)
Funny that my tattoo treat from last month moved its way over to the “obsessing” section (not so surprising iykyk). But I did treat myself to a piercing recently, too! It was a second lobe piercing done at a Catbird Soho event. I love it so so much. I’ve always wanted a piercing there!
I have to say, September was exciting but gone far too fast. I’m hoping for even more excitement in October (and since it’s my favorite month, I’m hoping it’ll pace out better).
